The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, attended this international food fair at the invitation of her German counterpart Cem Özdemir.

German Federal Minister thanked his Albanian counterpart for attending the Stuttgart Slow Food Fair, saying her presence shows significant support in the efforts to promote Albanian producers and the locally grown fresh produce.

During the meeting at the Albanian stand, Krifca recalled her German counterpart’s trip to Tirana last November, saying “it was a landmark visit because it was the first time that a German Agriculture Minister was visiting Albania.”

“We consider Germany a very important partner as Albania progresses and delivers on its ambitions to join the European Union. I am very optimistic about our partnership and I really appreciate Agriculture Minister Özdemir for his support for Albania. We have jointly designed an action plan which will become operational through Germany’s assistance,” Krifca said.

More than 700 exhibitors participated in the Stuttgart Fair, in more than 20,000 square meters where they presented products of wheat, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants and sweets. Eleven producers, members of the Slow Food movement, showcased their products at the Albanian stand.
