The Socialist senior official reacted to opposition claims over the resolution’s flaws, saying the document is up to the same standards and in line with the European Parliament and the US Congress.

“The resolution represents Albania’s position and it doesn’t belong to any of the four parliamentary groups in the Assembly of Albania today. As for the alleged flaws of the resolution, I would say that the resolution is in accordance to the same standards and in line with the resolutions adopted by the US Congress, the European Parliament and the German Bundestag, if you will,” Balla said.

“The resolution strongly condemns Russian aggression on Ukraine and the grave violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. As an act violating the international order, openly and flagrantly breaching the United Nations Charter, the Helsinki Final Act, the Budapest Memorandum, the Minsk Agreements and a number of other bilateral international documents that Russia had voluntarily signed and has violated them all,” he added.
