“As Minister of Culture, I am proud that today we built another linking bridge with the neighboring country, Italy. Together with the Italian Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, we signed a three-year program of cooperation between the respective institutions of culture, but also in education, sports and youth, where learning the respective languages in educational institutions and establishing connections between young people take on high importance, ” said Margariti.

According to the minister, this program envisages collaborations in music, theater and dance, visual arts through exhibitions of our artists or gallery funds; representations at various international festivals and activities.

“The agreement also provides for establishment of twinning relations between institutions; cinematographic co-productions; exchanges of experiences and specialists in cultural heritage, archeology, restoration, museology, twinning between theaters and universities ,” underlined Margariti.
The draft agreement is designed to ensure efficient development of cooperation and exchanges in the sector of culture, education, sports and youth, further strengthening and intensification of cooperation in the field of protection and promotion of cultural heritage; supporting cultural values and models; promoting mutual recognition and consolidating relations between the two countries.
In the field of culture, the agreement aims at developing cooperation in the fields of cultural heritage by supporting contacts and exchange of information between researchers and publications by specialized institutions as well as the organization of events promoting Italian archaeological missions in Albania; organizing joint capacity building programs in the field of cultural heritage and archeology.

While in the field of education, the cooperation is intended to promote the dissemination of relevant languages and cultures in the other country through departments at the Institutions of Secondary Education and Institutions of Higher Education; exchange of textbooks, teaching materials for the teaching of relevant languages and information on innovations in the pedagogical and teaching sectors, within the limits of available resources.
