TIRANA, Jan 14 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Tuesday that “Albania’s designation as the host of the ‘Giro d’Italia’ is an undeniable testament to a revitalized Albania, which, once a source of prejudice and disdain for Albanians around the world, has now become a source of admiration and respect for all of us, for Albania, and for every Albanian.”

In his most recent social media feature, where Prime Minister Rama responds to comments from followers, he chose to reply to the comment: “Congratulations on the initiative and promotion, but Albania still lacks roads. We hear Balluku’s ’emotional remarks,’ as for roads they are nowhere to be seen.”

Prime Minister Rama replied to Aurel: “You claim that Albania lacks roads for the Giro d’Italia, although we hear Balluku speak in tears, roads are nowhere to be seen. However, the professionals who organize the Giro don’t listen to Balluku at all, and I get the impression they don’t even know who she is. When they visited Albania to assess the conditions, not only did they see the roads, but they also gave a very positive evaluation of the overall infrastructure, hospitality, security, cleanliness, and the professional teams in each municipality. These are their words, not mine.”

Prime Minister Rama stated: “Now, what can I tell you, a strange time has come for some of us, my fellow Albanian. Until yesterday, we were angry with foreigners who didn’t even look at us. Yet, we fail to see the changes unfolding, and we are stunned by the millions of foreigners who come to this country, a country lacking roads, electricity, and where people are killed every day, street after street. I really don’t know what to say about the roads you hear a lot about but don’t see.”

Prime Minister Rama stated, “In reality, you claim we hear about them in the plural, but we don’t see them in the plural. As the saying goes, it’s not the eye that fails to see, but the mind. And there is no one more blind than the person who refuses to see.”

Rama went on saying, “Not long ago, the idea of the ‘Giro d’Italia’ in Albania felt like a mere fantasy. Blessed are those who possess the ambition, courage, determination, and patience to turn these daydreams into reality.”

“Today, that daydream has come true because I build, believe, fight, and win thanks to a great popular force, undoubtedly called the Socialist Party, without which no dream can become a reality for Albania we want for our children,” said Rama.
