In his remarks at this Assembly, Rama said that, “we can say with full conviction that now the work and the effort in this arduous journey of 10 years have started to pay off.”

We found Albania on the edge of the abyss and we took upon us to steer the country amid an extremely complex and difficult situation only to see a prosperous year like this, when Albania hosts almost 10 million tourists. This fact is enough to understand that Albania is now at a whole new level.”

Rama said that, “this is not the peak where we should and will push Albania by 2030, because there is still a lot of what we have sown that we must reap step by step, with the reforms and the investments and the changes that have taken place, yet again Albania is today at a whole new level.”

“Even if you check out the ratings of international financial institutions, and if you see some significant simple numbers, what I am saying is confirmed. Albania has gone through difficult, extremely difficult situations. Some of them have been experienced by the whole world, another part, like the earthquake, has been experienced only by us. And in those situations the increase in debt was inevitable.”

But, Rama added, “today the public debt has decreased by almost 15%.” So public debt is 60% from 74%-75% that we found until a while ago, while on the other hand we have increased the volume of investments and will continue to increase it. And we have kept the lowest inflation rate in the region and next year inflation will be completely stabilized and return to pre-war rates.”
