The fires, affecting areas including Vlorë, Sarandë, Ksamil, Delvinë, Vau i Dejës, Malësi e Madhe, Tirana, Kavaja, Berat, Kuçovë, Skrapar and Elbasan, burned around 35.9 hectares of land, mostly shrubs and grassland before the flames were contained.

A total of 266 operational personnel, 35 fire trucks, and a Cougar helicopter from the Armed Forces were deployed in firefighting efforts. Aerial surveillance using drones has also been intensified in southern regions, providing continuous day-and-night monitoring over high-risk areas.

Authorities said the civil protection mechanism at both local and central levels remains on alert.

Separately, two minor earthquakes were recorded early Friday: a 3.9-magnitude tremor near Fushë-Krujë in Durrës, and a 3.8-magnitude quake near Zall-Herr in Tirana. No injuries or structural damage were reported.
