“We did our best to empty the current runway and get clearance for sport flights and we pulled it off. Now ahead of us there is another bigger job in the investment that will be made and setting to operation this airport, which will unleash other development potentials for Gjirokastra, Saranda and the entire south of the country,” said Golemi.

The mayor of Gjirokastra expressed confidence that “no sooner said than done the works will kick off and in the near future this infrastructural work will be ready for the first flights.”
