In his remarks at the plenary session focused on the two final reports drafted by the opposition and the majority after investigation by the Commission, Ahmetaj said that the amount paid from the budget for these PPPs is 55 million euros.

According to him, this is substantiated by the Treasury authorizations.

“I thank this commission for giving the government and the majority the opportunity to disclose the truth in the eyes of the public. The great truth is that until 2013-2014 no finger was lifted to clean Albania. It had turned into a dumping ground. Secondly, this majority started a process of cleaning up the territory,” he said.

Ahmetaj said that the plants are there, one is up and running, the other under construction and the other one to be delivered in almost 60 months as provided in the contract.

“The Elbasan plant has worked, continues to work and has produced energy. The Tirana concession did not need budget support. The operator will invest 128 million euros, while the municipality of Tirana will pay for the service, ” said Ahmetaj.
