The amendments to the law on leasing state-owned agricultural land, forests and pastures are designed to ensure effective use of agricultural lands by introducing leasing process for activities related to innovative technologies in agriculture such as agro-photovoltaic, aeroponics, hydroponics and aquaponics.

Harnessing new technologies will attract more investments and help agricultural production grow by utilizing and making efficient use of low-fertility agricultural lands.

The bill specifies that “the use of these new technologies will bring about increased investment and agricultural production, as well as a new approach to agriculture in the country by utilizing not only agricultural land areas, but also by developing plant cultivation and above-ground cultivation.”

The legislation on strategic investments includes innovative technologies in the field of agriculture and other strategic sectors.
