In the conversation they had with Basha, the farmers raised some concerns such as lack of subsidies and market and very poor infrastructure.

Basha said that agriculture is an important sector of the Albanian economy and that has been left in oblivion during the last 8 years.

He pledged to take several steps when in power like 100 million euros of direct support based on Nipt, which will be the farmer’s identity card, 50 million euros per year for irrigation infrastructure, drainage, electricity network, roads, but also for agro-processing and the abolition of the ‘Rama’ tax on fuel.
