The Financial Supervision Authority said in its latest report that the number of the insurance contracts totaled to310 847, marking an increase by 8.96 % compared to the same period of the previous year.

The insurance market continued to be oriented towards non-life insurance premiums, accounting for 90.99% of the total volume of premiums, whereas life insurance premiums represented 8.93% of the total.

The voluntary insurance written premiums account for 42.30% and compulsory insurance written premiums account for 57.70% of the total market.

Between January and March 2024, gross paid claims in insurance market amounted to about 1,9 billion lek or 23.89% more compared to the same period of 2023.

The gross paid claims in the motor insurance reached the value of 1.3 million lek, with an increase by around 17.57% compared with the previous year.
