Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj congratulated the young Afghan couple for their involvement in the public life and their participation in the city’s biggest sport event along with hundreds of other foreign runners tomorrow.

“I am very happy to welcome Hazis and Fatima, two our friends from Afghanistan, who have decided to participate in Tirana Marathon. I know they will go through a long and difficult transition period. They came from Afghanistan, but they want to integrate into Albania and open a restaurant here, starting a new life and create a family together. I am looking forward to seeing them fulfil their dream and since they are two special guests in Tirana Marathon, I wanted to extend a special reception and wish them every success,” Tirana Mayor said.

The two Afghan young people thanked Mayor Veliaj, especially for the hospitality Albanian capital offered to their compatriots.
