The news was announced on Friday by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who also gave the reasons for releasing Bendo from this position.

“With Helidon Bendo, the director of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH), who, due to his postgraduate studies at the College of International and Security Studies, at the National Defense University in the United States, has submitted his resignation. He will serve in the future as an adviser to the Prime Minister for the reform of security institutions,” said Rama.

Earlier today, President Bajram Begaj decreed the release of the director of SHISH, Helidon Bendo.
