The government of Albania is working with the European Investment Bank on an 80 million euro project in the municipalities of Shkoder, Malesi e Madhe, and partly Lezhe, to support implementation of an ambitious and integrated investment program for urban and tourism development in the areas.

A team of international experts are working with their colleagues in the Albanian Development Fund to design concrete projects.

The program represents a concrete step towards transformation of one of the Albania’s areas with tremendous untapped tourism potential.

Head of the Albanian Development Fund Dritan Agolli said that, during 2022 alone, there have been carried out, or are in the process more than 222 interventions in the territory, from Vermoshi to Konispol.

Meanwhile, the Albanian Development Fund, said Agolli, is programming the interventions for the period 2023-2027.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that interventions in the territory by the Albanian Development Fund improve the lives of communities, strengthen services, tourism and rural development, and increase the economy.

“222 interventions in the territory from the Albanian Development Fund, completed in 2022 or in the process for 2023, which improve the lives of communities, strengthen services, tourism and rural development, increase the economy – less words and even more work and contact with people who work and have work to solve”, he said./p.s./

Families affected by the quake despite being treated with rent bonus are eagerly waiting to enter their newly built homes.

According to Arbana, the Albanian Development Fund as the contracting authority with economic operators should ask the 3-shift work to speed up the reconstruction process.

In Shijak are being built 30 buildings where 657 families will be beneficiaries, 4 educational facilities, while work on the reconstruction of 1 kindergarten, 567 individual dwellings has already been completed.

In his remarks, Arbana expressed gratitude to Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Albanian Government for all the good work done so far in Shijak. //a.i/
