TIRANA, April 9 /ATA/ In recent years as part of the crackdown on criminal syndicates, the country’s law enforcement authorities have tracked the wealth and assets of persons involved in criminal activities.

In recent years, the police and the prosecution office, in addition to arresting persons involved in illicit trafficking, have seized their assets which amount to millions of euros.

“Prime Minister Edi Rama posed a question to his followers on instastory on the social network Instagram, in the “100 days, 100 achievements” section, asking them how many millions of euros were taken from the hands of organized crime in recent years, 120 million or 300 million.”

Prime Minister Rama emphasizes that “in 7 years we seized EUR 300 million worth of assets deriving from criminal activities and only through Operation Force of Law we dismantled 78 criminal syndicates.”

Domestic and international law enforcement authorities have often mounted several operations to crack down on organized crime in our country. In recent years, the fight against organized crime has been in the focus of the Albanian government.
