Dritan Fino, Chairman of the Public Oversight Board, noted that the accounting profession now faces new challenges that demand vision, investment, and swift adaptability.

“The use of new technologies, process automation and digitalization; the need for new analytical and digital skills; as well as global competition and increasingly higher standards are some of the challenges facing the accounting profession,” emphasized Dritan Fino in his remarks.

During the panel discussions, it was highlighted that the “Strengthening the Quality of Auditing and Reporting in Albania (SQARP)” project has contributed to enhancing the regulatory oversight capacity of the BMP and promoting a more structured framework in accounting operations and services, including forensic accounting, thereby improving transparency, accountability, and financial governance standards.

Meanwhile, the Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Economy Committee, Milva Ekonomi, while acknowledging the vital role of accountants, called on them to contribute actively to the fight against informality in the economy.
