In his remarks at the First National Anti-Corruption Conference, Le Bras said, “we as the EU place a special emphasis on public administration reform because it is part of the EU process. We see the rule of law and public administration as the two main pillars of the EU integration process, which is part of strengthening the governance system in general.”

“Public administration reform will deliver impact in several aspects, such as improving the quality of public administration, accountability, increasing professionalism, depoliticization and also transparency in recruitment and dismissal as well as transparent management of public finances. All these together are in our focus with the aim of providing better services for the citizens,” said Le Bras.

“Digitalization is a powerful facilitator to provide transparency. Many countries have built this experience as digitalization has great potential to advance in the efficiency of public administration accountability to better contribute to more business-friendly environments.”

He added that “digitalization also helps to address the corruption that seriously affects citizens every day and erodes trust in public institutions.”
