TIRANA, April 16 /ATA/ – The Competition Authority and the Financial Supervisory Authority on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in order to protect consumers and investors by guaranteeing the market free competition under the supervision of AFSA.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by AFSA General Director Ervin Mete and the Head of the Competition Authority, Juliana Latifi.

The agreement provides for inter-institutional cooperation and coordination through the exchange of information, legal or regulatory acts, or arrangement of joint meetings in order to better regulate markets under the AFSA supervision.

The Memorandum of Cooperation, which renews the agreement signed in 2006 between the two watchdog institutions, sets clear terms on stronger coordination of actions and mutual support for free and effective competition in non-bank financial markets.

TIRANA, April 5 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced Monday that an agreement has been reached over delivery of another shipment of 50,000 doses of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine against Covid-19 due to be delivered within next 10 days.

“We just reach an accord to deliver 50.000 more doses of Sputnik V vaccine in the next ten days,” PM Rama said.

“We will win this war through the power of our character and our persistence and we will soon leave behind the tunnel of this pandemic, where the light at the end of it keeps getting bigger and bigger,” Rama added.

The global barometer tracking the pace of vaccination over the past seven days ranks Albania first in region, leaving behind Serbia, as well as many European Union member states that had started the immunisation drive much earlier.
