The President’s office announced that President of the Republic Bajram Begaj is following with concern the tragic accident that happened today in Croatia where an Albanian remained dead and several others were injured.

President Begaj expresses his condolences to the family for the death of their loved one.
He also assures all the family members of those injured that he is attentively following the situation by staying in touch with the
Albanian Ambassador in Croatia, as well as with the Croatian authorities.

The President assures the families of all injured passengers that the Albanian state is by their side.

One person died and several others were injured in a car crash on the A-1 highway, according to Croatian television channel, HRT.
The Croatian police reported that the accident happened yesterday evening, at 11:43 p.m., when a bus with Albanian plate number, for unknown reasons, swerved to the right and crashed into the protective barriers, rolling over on its left.

At the time of the accident, there were nine passengers and the driver aboard the bus. The bus was driven by an Albanian citizen, 58 years old.
