TIRANA, Oct.26/ATA/ The Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Tuesday that, the investment in equipping the school laboratories will kick off at the beginning of next year.

In his remarks, in the public consultation with pupils and students on the New National Strategy for Youth (2022-2029) taking place in Elbasan, the Prime Minister Rama said that, “this consultation will produce in cooperation with the young people a working document and concrete commitments of national and local institutions, with the aim of empowering the Albanian youth.

“The process undertaken by the Ministry of Youth and Children may seem at first glance or from afar as a routine of meetings, but in fact it is a process that is very helpful and very constructive for us, because there are things that are very tangible and are part of everyday life and the difficulties of everyday life, such as the student community, and escape the eye of decision-makers or those who prepare decisions at the expert level. Coping helps to focus on the many things, that can escape the focus of decision makers,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

“The issue of laboratories was touched on and I am very pleased to say that we have already addressed it in the 2022 budget where a special amount has been made available to address this problem. It is true that labs turn out to be available on paper, but also at school. In many cases, they are actually equipped in a very modest way, certainly when the laboratories are poorly equipped, then the teaching in the laboratory does not have the impact and the interest it must have,” the premier Rama stressed.

“The minister and the people in the ministry have started working on equipment and maintenance of the laboratories in schools,” he said.

The Prime Minister Rama said that, “in order to make available the teaching of informatics through a centralized system of teachers who are of the highest level in the country and using the contribution of students and teachers to increase their knowledge, capacities and performance by being present in centralized lessons in some schools.”

“The issue of arts, sports. We have set a goal in this mandate to have two new national programs for arts and crafts and one program for sports. We will start organizing the system step by step, so that schools have the capacity to respond to the demands of students who want to develop their talent, as well as to give them the opportunity to increase their knowledge in the field of crafts,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

“Teacher recruitment is much more meritocratic. You cannot become a teacher today, here I do not mean the cases when abuses are committed, there are always cases that are exceptional, but according to the rules, you cannot become a teacher today with a recommendation or a friend, or using bribery because you have to go through the competition process, via the portal “Teachers for Albania”, the selection is much more controlled than it was before, although there are cases as I said, abuses, but there is no comparison with how things used to work and from the financial point of view the support for teachers has been increased and will increase again next year, the 2022 budget has included the teachers’ salaries expected to rise because they are very important for society, they are very important for us,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

“We will do our utmost to address your concers, which are things we hear everywhere and which are very clear, and we will start to act immediately. The strategy has a time frame like any other strategy, longer than 1 year and 4 years, but what we want is not to be just a beautifully written thing, but an action plan being implemented step by step and that your today’s concerns, after a year, two years or three years- no longer be part of the conversation, but resolved problems or no longer discuss the artistic education environments, craft education facilities, environments of sports activities, to not make discussions at the municipal, county or national level, which I believe will create a positive energy in the lives of students, giving them the opportunity to have much more interaction with their passions and desires related to skills, talents, ambitions beyond going to school, doing homework, leaving school and going home to do homework,” the Prime Minister Rama concluded. //a.i/
