TIRANA, Nov 3 /ATA/ EU Ambassador to Albania Sofia Moreira de Sousa today met with Democratic Party parliamentary group chairman Gazment Bardhi to discuss Albania’s EU accession process.
In a social media post, the ambassador said the discussions focused on Parliament’s role in adopting reforms, aligning Albanian legislation with the European Union law and holding the executive to account.
The ambassador said the meeting with Bardhi focused on Albania’s path towards EU membership.
“Met today with Mr Gazment Bardhi, DP parliamentary group leader, to discuss Albania’s EU accession path.
We had a good discussion on Parliament’s central role: passing reforms, aligning legislation with EU law and holding the executive to account.
This requires all parties to engage, and Parliament to be a real space for dialogue”, EU Ambassador Sofia Moreira de Sousa said.
