Rama renews call for dialogue with students and academic staff

TIRANA, Oct 28 /ATA/ “Prime Minister Edi Rama once again asked the protesting students and lecturers today to sit down for dialogue, expressing the government’s readiness to consider their proposals and address the concerns raised. Rama shared footage on social media of the stone table with the inscription ‘Dialogue’.”

However, so far, the protesters have rejected the invitation, demanding the Prime Minister’s resignation while warning that the protest will continue. The Prime Minister has declared that he is ready to consider any proposal from the students and lecturers, while the government is preparing a package of measures to address their needs, aiming to translate listening to citizens into decision-making and concrete support.

According to Rama, the 2027 budget, which the government will present today, includes additional measures in support of families, public services, and students. The Prime Minister also emphasized that no one can bring the state to its knees through violence or by hiding behind the figure of the student.

He has warned that any attempt to incite urban terror, religious division, or to undermine Albania’s tradition of tolerance and harmony will face consequences.
