Albania hosts eQuinoxe Europe program, bringing together leading international screenwriters

TIRANA, October 28 /ATSH/ – For the first time in Albania, Durrës is hosting the international screenwriting development program “eQuinoxe,” establishing the city as a meeting point for filmmakers and screenwriters from across Europe.

The National Center of Cinematography (NCC) said that the program, which boasts a history spanning over 30 years, supports the development of film scripts through collaboration between authors and professional consultants from the international film industry.

This year’s edition includes two Albanian projects—spearheaded by young directors Erenik Beqiri and Redi Treni—alongside other promising projects from across Europe.

According to the NCC, approximately 10 professional screenwriting consultants from around the world are working with the authors to refine and develop their scripts, with the goal of preparing the projects to meet the standards required for future international productions.

“eQuinoxe” is seen as an opportunity to strengthen the ties between Albanian filmmakers and the European industry, as well as to enhance the artistic quality of local projects through the exchange of experiences and professional expertise. The NCC emphasized that bringing this program to Albania is part of efforts to open up Albanian cinema to the international market, with a focus on professional training and the creation of new collaboration opportunities for local filmmakers./e.i/a.f/p.s./
