New Faculty of Professional Studies building in Durres boasts 45 lecture rooms, 15 laboratories

TIRANA, Oct 12 /ATA/ – The new campus of the Faculty of Professional Studies at Aleksandër Moisiu University in Durres has opened its doors for the new academic year, offering students and academic staff modern facilities and upgraded infrastructure.

Funded by the Albanian government, the new building houses 45 lecture rooms and 15 science laboratories, alongside conference halls, sports facilities, recreational areas, green spaces, a swimming pool and a park.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared photos of the new facilities on Monday, highlighting the modern learning environment serving around 1,800 students and 80 lecturers and academic staff.

Plans are also underway to build a residential complex for students from other parts of the country, further developing the campus into an integrated university environment meeting modern standards.

Aleksandër Moisiu University has enrolled around 1,800 new students this academic year, about 100 more than a year earlier. Total enrolment across all study cycles stands at approximately 17,500.

Business Administration and Finance and Accounting are among the most popular programmes this year, both among courses taught in Albanian and joint programmes offered in partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in Portugal.

The university offers a broad range of programmes across its five faculties, covering fields including medical technical sciences, technology, business, tourism, education, law and social sciences.

Among the new offerings this year is a two-year professional programme in Tour Guiding, designed to combine academic training with professional qualification and licensing for tourist guides.
