TIRANA, Oct 6 /ATA/ The European Union Delegation in Tirana stressed today that stronger ties among Western Balkan countries are essential to the region’s future within the EU, while also strengthening security and resilience.
The 12th edition of the Tirana Connectivity Forum, organised by the Institute for Cooperation and Development, focused on increasingly close cooperation among Western Balkan countries and their commitments to implementing national reform agendas under the new Growth Plan.
The forum’s main message was that Albania and the region are moving from preparation to concrete implementation.
EU Ambassador to Albania Sofia Moreira de Sousa stressed that the European Union would continue to support the Western Balkan countries.
“The EU will continue its strong political, technical and financial support for all six Western Balkan partners, helping them advance the key political, institutional, social and economic reforms needed to progress on their path towards EU membership,” EU Ambassador Sofia Moreira de Sousa said.
