TIRANA, Sept 26 /ATA/ In Kombinat, Tirana, work has commenced on clearing the site along Shaban Bardhoshi Street, opening the way for the construction of new homes for families still awaiting the completion of the reconstruction programme.
The initiative, undertaken by Tirana Municipality, will be accompanied by parallel interventions to upgrade the infrastructure around the apartment blocks already built, with the aim of creating a more orderly and functional environment for residents.
During his visit earlier this week, the Minister of Interior, Ervin Demo, met with families and inspected the progress of the works, stressing the need for full institutional coordination and acceleration of the process.
“Reconstruction must advance with urgency. Families have already waited long enough. What is needed now is daily work, right through to the handover of the key to the new home,” emphasised Minister Demo.
The interventions in Kombinat aim to push forward the reconstruction process, which had faced delays, while improving living conditions for families affected by the 2019 earthquake.
