Education Minister: PISA Governing Board to meet in Tirana for first time

TIRANA, Sept. 25 /ATA/ – Tirana will host the PISA Governing Board meeting in October, Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro said on Friday, describing it as one of the key international meetings on education and the assessment of its quality.

Kumbaro said the upcoming meeting in the Albanian capital would place Albania at the centre of discussions on experiences shaping the future of international education policy.

“The next PISA Governing Board meeting in our capital puts Albania at the centre of the experiences and discussions shaping the future of international education policy. It is also a moment that confirms our commitment to quality education in line with international developments,” the Education Minister said.

Following the release of the PISA 2025 results, the Education Ministry and the National Agency for Education Services are continuing their work on a comprehensive analysis of the report.

The analysis is aimed at understanding the results and drawing the necessary conclusions by comparing Albania’s performance over time, with countries in the region and with countries sharing similar socio-cultural and economic conditions. Global trends will also be taken into account.

PISA is one of the tools used to assess and improve education systems, with students at the centre of the process.
