PM Rama: Albanian consulate to open in Detroit

TIRANA, Sept. 21 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Monday that Albania will soon open a consulate in Detroit, speaking at a meeting with the Albanian community in Michigan.

Rama said the decision followed repeated requests from the local Albanian community and described it as a deserved step.

He said the consulate would enable Albanians in Michigan to access consular services closer to where they live.

“I want to give you some news today that I believe will be good news for you. I have repeatedly heard this request from the community, and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs will soon open the Albanian consulate in Detroit,” Rama said.

“Albania should be close to you whenever you need it. At the very least, in your case, Albania should have a door here for you to knock on for all consular matters,” he added.
