TIRANA, Sept 19 /ATA/ The Socialist Party is in the midst of its ‘Faithful Presence’ initiative, holding citizen meetings nationwide to address concerns over public services and local institutions.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the party’s chairman, on Saturday shared highlights from the weekly review of Faithful Presence, which, as on every Friday, was held nationwide.
Across several districts, Socialist Party political coordinators reported on the volume of complaints and requests raised by citizens, together with the measures taken to refer them to the competent institutions.
The head of government stressed that the process should help institutions function more effectively.
‘The idea is not merely to collect grievances and pass them on. The point is that this process should assist institutions in working better. Continue according to the objectives and the plan,’ Rama said.
Socialist Party Secretary‑General Blendi Klosi stated that the second week of the process has seen a marked increase in citizen hearings.
‘In the second week, hearings have risen by more than 50%. If there are now 209 complaints or comments from citizens, 80 were recorded in the first week, meaning 149 in the second,’ Klosi said.
In Korçë district, according to Socialist Party political coordinator Niko Peleshi, the number of identified cases has reached 263. Most relate to the Municipality of Korçë, while a significant share of requests also come from Pogradec and Devoll. Peleshi noted that citizens are increasingly engaging in the process.

In Fier district, Socialist Party political coordinator Belinda Balluku reported that 431 complaints and requests have been registered. She said the aim is to increase the number of resolved cases in the coming days.
In other districts, Socialist Party political coordinators also reported on the progress of the process.

In Elbasan, Arbjan Mazniku stated that the system is now operational and that requests have been forwarded to the relevant institutions. According to him, 31 of the cases have already received a response.
In Kukës, citizens’ requests have also been forwarded to the institutions. In Lezhë district, Socialist Party political coordinator Ermal Nufi reported a total of 84 cases. ‘In Laç we have 16 complaints, while 36 others are in Lezhë municipality,’ he said.
Another proposal raised during the meetings concerned categorising issues by their nature, beyond territorial divisions. Mirela Kumbaro, the Socialist Party’s coordinator for Gjirokastër district, suggested that similar cases identified in different districts should be grouped and addressed under a common system of priorities.
Meanwhile in Berat, Socialist Party political coordinator Ervin Demo said that a considerable share of complaints could receive positive responses in the period ahead.
“Sixty‑five per cent of complaints could receive a positive response within a reasonable timeframe. Therefore, the two to three weeks ahead will be critical for consolidating something that can then become much more sustainable,” he said.
