TIRANA, September 17 /ATA/ – Speaker of the Parliament Niko Peleshi announced today that all Parliamentary groups have agreed to draft a joint statement. The statement will formally condemn the war crimes rulings against former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
Peleshi said that the ruling holds profound significance, underscoring its historical weight for Kosovo and the Albanian nation.
“Yesterday, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers announced the verdict on the four former KLA leaders who led the liberation struggle of the people of Kosovo for freedom and independence. This ruling marks a significant and painful moment, not only for Kosovo but also for our national history and memory,” Peleshi emphasized.
The Speaker of the Parliament also said that the Parliament of Albania would issue a joint statement regarding the Special Court’s ruling. “In full agreement with the Parliamentary groups, today we will issue a joint statement through the Assembly, expressing the stance of the Parliament of Albania regarding this development,” stated Peleshi.
