TIRANA, Sept 17 /ATA/ The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has launched a new fully automated platform to support small and medium‑sized enterprises applying to the “Double Your Enterprise” programme.
Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj stated today that the platform has been designed to simplify the application process for businesses and to assist them at every stage, from expressing interest to preparing for submission at the bank.
Through the e‑Albania portal, any interested business can request the service “Expression of Interest for ‘Double Your Enterprise’” and begin the process online. In the initial stage, the business fills in the required information, including its NIPT number and the concept or investment idea it intends to pursue.
Minister Ibrahimaj explained that the platform enables businesses to track the status of their application and the corresponding decisions at every stage.
At the same time, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation assists enterprises in preparing the necessary documentation, aiming to ensure that when they present themselves at the bank they have complete information and a preliminary assessment for their loan application.
Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj underlined that interest in the programme has been high since its launch.
“More than 1,700 businesses have expressed interest, while 720 of them are currently being processed by the Ministry’s team,” she said.
According to data collected from businesses, demand is mainly linked to expansion and modernisation of activity. Some 57% of firms expressing interest aim to expand operations, while 21% plan to invest in machinery and equipment.
The “Double Your Enterprise” programme seeks to improve access to finance for small and medium‑sized enterprises through a state sovereign guarantee for loans of up to €2 million, with maturities of up to 10 years.
The new platform integrates this support into a fully online process, allowing businesses to apply, track the progress of their requests and receive assistance throughout the process.
The “Double Your Enterprise” programme aims to create more opportunities for Albanian businesses seeking to invest, expand operations and increase capacity, while the platform facilitates their access to this financing instrument.
