Koman road transformed amid northern Albania’s spectacular landscape

TIRANA, Sept 15 /ATA/ – The newly reconstructed Koman road is strengthening access to the tourism potential of Albania’s northern mountains, including the Albanian Alps.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage of the road on social media on Tuesday, describing its transformation against the backdrop of northern Albania’s spectacular landscape.

Reconstruction of the Koman road began in February last year under a project worth around 2.5 billion leks.

The upgraded road is expected not only to enhance the tourist experience, with trips across Lake Koman by ferry increasingly included in travel itineraries, but also to improve living conditions for local communities and create opportunities for sustainable economic development in the area.

The transformation of the Koman road adds another revitalised asset to northern Albania’s tourism infrastructure, while reinforcing a strategic transport link for the sector’s development.
