TIRANA, September 12 /ATA/ – Governor of the Bank of Albania Gent Sejko held a meeting at the Bank of Albania with Pierre Sentenac, the new Head of the Regional Economic Department at the French Embassy.
During the meeting, Governor Sejko commended the good relations and close cooperation between Albania and France, describing France as a key European partner for Albania. He wished Mr. Sentenac success in his new role and expressed the Bank of Albania’s readiness to continue and strengthen cooperation with French institutions.
Governor Sejko provided an overview of the latest economic and financial developments in the country, highlighting that the Albanian economy continues to perform positively and that key indicators of economic, monetary and financial stability remain solid. In this context, he also addressed the role of the Bank of Albania’s policies in maintaining price stability and further strengthening financial stability.
Pierre Sentenac commended the Bank of Albania for its efforts in maintaining the country’s macroeconomic and financial stability, as well as for its contribution to strengthening the resilience of the Albanian economy. He acknowledged the progress Albania has made in recent years, regarding it as a significant milestone on the country’s path toward European integration.
The interlocutors also focused on developments in the tourism sector, identifying it as a key driver of economic growth. In this context, they highlighted the banking sector’s contribution—through increased financing and support for tourism-related activities—as well as the importance of the sector’s sustainable development.
The meeting also addressed the outlook for the Albanian economy within the framework of the European Union integration process, alongside the importance of further strengthening institutional cooperation.
