TIRANA, September 8/ATAH/ After the protest held in front of the Parliament, citizens marched from “Skanderbeg” square to the Prime Minister’s Office, continuing the 101st protest against the investment in Zvërnec.

During their movement, there were heard calls against the government and the political class.

The protest began at 17:00 in front of the Parliament building, where there were recorded tensions and clashes between protesters and the police during the afternoon hours.

Some citizens were accompanied by State Police officers, while the exact number of people accompanied has not yet been announced.

Named the “Flamingo Revolution”, the protest began on May 31 as a reaction against the environmental impact of the tourist project in Zvërnec.

The participants are now demanding political and institutional changes and expressing their concerns about corruption, employment opportunities and the departure of young people from the country.

Activists have also warned of continuation of the protest and the escalation of civic action. /gj.m/r.e/p.s./
