TIRANA, September 5/ATA/ The protest against the tourism investment project in Zvërnec has entered its 98th day today.
After gathering in “Skanderbeg” square, the protesters marched along the “Martyrs of the Nation” boulevard towards the Prime Minister’s Office, where they delivered speeches.
Initially launched as a sign of opposition to the investment project in Zvërnec area, the protest has expanded its demands to include political and institutional issues.
The protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the so-called “old caste” of politics, as well as the repeal of the changes to the law on protected areas and the amendment of the electoral law.
Activist Sidorela Vatnikaj emphasized that during the 98 days of popular resistance, the motives for protest have only multiplied. “You only have to look at how Albania is all on fire, cities are burning, residents are being evacuated, but no one is being held accountable. You only have to look at how crime threatens businesses,” she added.
The protest continued with speeches from other activists and citizens, while the organizers expressed their determination to continue the civic action.
