TIRANA, August 31/ATA/ Final preparations for the new school year are underway, with a strong focus on using intelligent technology to improve school safety.
Prime Minister Rama visited today the historical “Partizani” high school, together with Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro. There he got acquainted with the preparations for the new school year, the conditions created at the school and the implementation of the “Smart City” project, part of which are also the intelligent cameras to tighten security in school premises.
The “Partizani” high school, with a tradition dating back to 1964, was renovated in 2023 and today offers modern facilities and conditions for about 600 students and teachers. The school is among the 20 educational institutions where there has begun implementation of the intelligent camera system located in common areas.
During the visit, PM Rama got acquainted with the functioning of the system, which enables real-time monitoring of shared premises and signaling of situations that require attention.
The images are connected online to the National Monitoring Center and the State Police, while access to them is carried out according to a defined protocol, including the school principal, the authorized security officer and parents, in cases where they need to see a certain situation.
PM Rama described the transition from traditional cameras to a new generation of intelligent cameras as an important step for improving security in schools, while emphasizing that the system not only records images, but also signals certain situations in real time, creating an important tool for school principals and security officers for faster reaction.
PM Rama stated that, “We guarantee a real-time view of all common areas. This is a very strong ally of security officers and school administrators because with these cameras in real time, any person coming from outside, who may escape the eye of the security officer, can be seen. There can be seen any suspicious acts. It is absolutely impossible to smoke without being detected. This is a system for which we have worked hard”, said Rama.
The intelligent system is able to identify and signal certain behaviors, serving as a preventive mechanism and helping security staff, school administrators, teachers, psychologists and social workers in managing situations that may compromise security in school premises.
The prime minister emphasized that the expansion of the system aims to bring more security and tranquility to students, parents and school staff. /p.s./
