From environment to political demands, routine protest is held in Tirana

TIRANA, August 29 /ATA/ Citizens and civil society activists gathered today for their 91st protest. What began as a rally against the Zvërnec investment project has now expanded to include broader political demands.

After gathering in “Skanderbeg” square, the protesters marched along the “Martyrs of the Nation” boulevard towards the Prime Minister’s Office, where they delivered their speeches.

The protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the removal of what they call the “old political caste”, as well as the repeal of the changes to the law on protected areas and the amendment of the electoral law.

The organizers have stated that the protest will continue in the coming days and that there will be no withdrawal until their demands are met.
