Albania reaffirms support for Ukraine on Independence Day

TIRANA, Aug. 24 /ATA/ – Albania has reaffirmed its support for Ukraine on its Independence Day on Monday, stressing the Ukrainian people’s right to determine their own future as a free nation.

In a message on 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEFA) praised Ukraine’s courage and resilience in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Ukraine’s courage and resilience are a defence not only of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also of the principles on which a free and peaceful Europe is built,” the ministry said in a message.

Albania will continue to stand with Ukraine in support of a just and lasting peace, accountability and Ukraine’s right to be part of the European family, the Ministry said.

“Happy Independence Day, Ukraine,” the message concluded.
