TIRANA, Aug 19 /ATA/ The Tax Administration has stepped up field operations to collect outstanding liabilities, including the seizure of daily turnover from taxpayers against whom compulsory collection procedures have been initiated.
The General Directorate of Taxes said on Wednesday that legislation allows for the seizure of at least 50% of a taxpayer’s daily turnover, without exceeding the amount of the outstanding tax liability.
During the inspections, 7.9 million lek in unpaid social and health insurance contributions was seized.
The Tax Administration called on taxpayers to settle their obligations on time to avoid enforcement measures.
