TIRANA, Aug 19 /ATA/ The hunting season has not begun and hunting remains prohibited, the Ministry of Environment said, rejecting recent claims that the season opened on Aug. 15.
The ministry said that, under Law No. 89/2025 “On Hunting”, hunting is not permitted until hunting areas are approved by a decision of the Council of Ministers.
According to the ministry, the new legal framework sets out the conditions under which hunting may take place, while the opening of the season is subject to the approval of the relevant hunting areas.
The Ministry of Environment warned that any case of illegal hunting will be subject to inspection and punished with penalties set out under current legislation.
The ministry urged citizens to refer to the relevant legislation and official announcements for information on the hunting season and applicable rules.
