TIRANA, August 12 /ATA/ Unmanned aerial vehicles play a vital role in military operations to combat wildfires across the country.
Minister of Defense Ermal Nufi stated today that Air Force uses the Bayraktar TB2 drone to monitor conditions day and night.
Nufi stated that footage from the Bayraktar drone shows active fire zones. The drone streams real-time data on fire locations, how fast the flames spread, and the movements of firefighting helicopters.
“The Air Force’s Bayraktar TB2 drone conducts round-the-clock surveillance, instantly relaying live feeds of spreading flames, hot spots, and firefighting helicopter movements,” Nufi said.
“The data provided by the air support the direction and coordination of forces on the ground, as well as the rapid response of the relevant structures”, the minister emphasized.
The use of unmanned aerial technology aims to improve the monitoring of areas affected by fires and assist operational structures in making timely decisions, with a focus on protecting life, property and the environment. /gj.m/r.e/a.f/p.s./
