Ibrahimaj: Centralised Purchasing Operator launches new electronic procurement platform

TIRANA, Aug 6 /ATA/ Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj announced the launch of a new electronic procurement platform, prokurimet.obp.al, designed to fully digitalise the administration of procurement procedures.

Ibrahimaj said the platform will enable more than 250 contracting authorities to handle procurement requests entirely online, including the preparation, electronic signature and digital certification of related documents.

This new approach eliminates the need to print and submit documents physically, aiming to increase the speed and efficiency of procurement processes.

The new platform reduces paperwork and administrative costs, enables direct and standardised communication between institutions, and allows users to track the status of requests in real time.

Another key element is the increased transparency and traceability of the process, as every action carried out can be tracked through documented records.

According to the minister, the platform represents a new standard of cooperation between contracting authorities and the Centralised Purchasing Operator (OBP), transforming the way procurement requests are submitted and managed.

“We procure together for a European Albania,” Ibrahimaj said, stressing that the digitalisation of the process aims to save time and resources, simplify procedures and support the timely completion of procurement for works, goods and services.

The new platform also aims to contribute to the delivery of higher-quality services for citizens by enabling faster, more transparent and more efficient management of public procurement procedures.
