Road safety education campaign expands to 12 schools

TIRANA, Aug 5 /ATA/ Improving road safety through the education of younger generations remains one of the priorities of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR). During the first half of 2026, 1,124 children took part in the institution’s educational programmes, aimed at fostering a stronger culture of adhering to road traffic rules.

DPSHTRR announced that, within the framework of the “Road Safety” project, it organised an educational campaign in lower secondary schools nationwide, with the “Mobile Traffic and Road Safety Education Corner” reaching 12 schools. Through interactive activities and awareness materials, students were taught the fundamental rules of road use and the importance of safe behaviour in traffic.

The Road Safety team also participated in eight public events organised by DPSHTRR or in cooperation with partners, aimed at promoting a road safety culture and raising public awareness.

According to DPSHTRR, educating children about road safety remains a long-term investment in developing responsible drivers and reducing road accidents in the future.
