TIRANA, July 17 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that Albania’s economy is growing, but positive statistics alone are no longer enough to meet the rising expectations of our citizens and the entrepreneurial community.
Speaking at the “Double Your Entrepreneurship” event, Rama stated that while an average growth of 4% and an expanding business sector are encouraging, they naturally generate even higher expectations for further progress.
“When the numbers are too good to be true, people just get annoyed”, said Rama, adding that Albanian society has entered a new phase, where faster development and more opportunities are required.
According to the prime minister, rather than a rejection of progress, this reflects a society actively pursuing greater outcomes and new opportunities.
“People are increasingly impatient with stories of past struggles. They don’t want to look back at the journey; they see the success of others simply as proof of what they can achieve next”, said Rama.
He assessed that the national support program for small and medium-sized businesses is an important instrument to address the expectations of entrepreneurs and to create new development opportunities.
“This program is also very important in the psychological aspect for entrepreneurship. People deserve to have new opportunities to succeed more and faster”, said the prime minister.
Rama emphasized that today, public trust in institutions and the state is driven more by future expectations than by past accomplishments. To meet these demands, we must focus on hard work, economic growth, and robust support for entrepreneurship—the undisputed engine of democratic economic development.
