TIRANA, June 3 /ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha stated today during meeting of the Parliamentary Group that the DP fully supports foreign investments in the country, focusing especially on the investment in Zvërnec.
Berisha emphasized that the Zvërnec issue has become, according to him, a debate of national and international proportions, while presenting the opposition’s stance on this issue.
“Since the ‘Affinity’ partners company has shown special interest and will invest in Sazan and Zvërnec, at that time 2 billion or so, I fully agreed even because his father in law was in opposition then. I agreed because he had the money”, he said.
Berisha added that his stance in favor was based on the financial capacity of the investors.
Next, the DP leader focused on the project in Sazan, emphasizing that it is not a simple investment.
“Sazani is public land. Zvërnec is private land. And we support foreign investment”, emphasized Berisha.
According to him, the government should talk “with environmentalists and provide them with guarantees. You will tell them that we will build in accordance with the standards of the European Union. This area makes Albania famous in the world. It absolutely does. I tell you that it is a natural fantasy area. It is a miracle, a miracle. You are making it famous on condition that you do not disfigure it, do not destroy it, on condition that you develop it in accordance with all the conditions”, said Berisha.
Regarding the issue of ownership, the leader of the DP said that: “There is no one there to resolve ownership problems because in Vlora there have been changed 17 cadastral directors”./gj.m/ /a.g/p.s./
