PM Rama: National Roadmap 2030 sets concrete development targets for Albania

TIRANA, May 31 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced Sunday that the government has approved the National Roadmap for the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, a strategic document outlining concrete and measurable targets for the country’s development by the end of the decade.

Speaking on his weekly Let’s Talk podcast, Rama said the decision follows the opening of the final phase of Albania’s accession negotiations with the European Union and is closely aligned with the vision for Albania in 2030.

He said the roadmap was adopted shortly after what he described as a landmark moment in Brussels, when Albania entered the concluding stage of its EU accession talks.

According to Rama, the plan ensures that state institutions remain focused both on fulfilling obligations under the EU integration process and on delivering long-term development priorities.

The document, he noted, is designed to guide policies across key sectors including the economy, education, healthcare, the environment, governance, and overall quality of life.

Rama also announced the approval of a strategic partnership with United Nations agencies for the 2027–2031 period, aimed at supporting Albania in major development areas ranging from human capital and economic transformation to green growth and institutional strengthening.

He stressed that European integration should not be viewed solely as a technical negotiation process with EU institutions, but as a broader national transformation project linked to institution-building and alignment with European standards.
