TIRANA, May 21 /ATA/ Albania’s electricity exports more than doubled in the first quarter of 2026, reaching 1,503 GWh compared with 732 GWh in the same period of 2025.

This increase was driven by higher domestic production, particularly from public hydropower plants. According to INSTAT data, the energy available during this period rose by 8.9%, reaching 2,470 GWh compared with 2,269 GWh in the first quarter of 2025.
