TIRANA, May 20 /ATA/ Chief Inspector General Dashnor Sula stated from Vlora that inspectorates will step up on-site inspections ahead of the summer tourist season, with a particular focus on illegal construction, food safety, and environmental protection.
During a meeting with regional inspectorate directors and staff in Vlora, Sula highlighted that coastal areas, including Vlora, continue to face significant challenges due to informal construction.
‘Be assured that every entity nationwide will undergo comprehensive inspections and classification. There is zero tolerance toward any violations, in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 12 of the European Union accession negotiations,’ Sula affirmed.
He also provided information on the establishment of a new citizen reporting platform, as well as the operation of the 0800 green line, which will enable real-time reporting of violations.
‘Next week, the portal sigurt.gov.al, along with the 0800 green line, will become fully operational, providing citizens with the tools to report any issues,’ he stated.
Sula further underscored that each inspectorate will establish dedicated task forces to monitor commercial entities operating along the coastal regions, with the objective of ensuring compliance with service standards throughout the tourist season.
Addressing the issue of illegal construction, Sula described Vlora as one of the most problematic areas and emphasized that law enforcement agencies will remain actively engaged in preventing violations.
