TIRANA, May 18 /ATA/ Chairman of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, addressed the protest by Albanian students in North Macedonia, who are demanding that the law examination be administered in the Albanian language.
In a social media post, Balla stated that he supports the legitimate request of Albanian students in North Macedonia to take the law examination in the Albanian language, which is currently not permitted, despite being recognized as their right under the Constitution.
“If the procedures are found to be inadequate, it is the responsibility of the Parliament and the government of North Macedonia to come up with fair and sustainable solutions,” Balla stated.
Thousands of citizens in Skopje, North Macedonia, the majority of whom are students and academic staff, are holding another protest, calling for the law examination to be conducted in the Albanian language.
Protesters, carrying banners, have begun marching toward the Ministry of Justice, demanding the resignation of the Minister of Justice. A key demand of the students is that examinations be organized and conducted in the Albanian language.
