Clean Trails, Protected Forests: Youth join initiative on Kunë island

TIRANA, May 13 /ATA/ The National Program “Clean Trails, Protected Forests,” an initiative dedicated to environmental protection and the maintenance of tourist paths, continues to be implemented across the country.

On this occasion, a group of students from Lezha have joined the initiative, thereby responding to the need for broader civic engagement. The involvement of citizens is essential, as the efforts of specialists in protected areas alone are insufficient to ensure the preservation of these landscapes.

Prime Minister Edi Rama today shared on social media images from this youth-led action, where young people joined the initiative for the protection of nature and the preservation of cleanliness along the Kunë Island trail.

Students across the country are becoming active participants in this initiative, contributing directly to the cleanup and maintenance of trails through educational activities and nature excursions.

The National Program “Clean Trails, Protected Forests” aims to foster a new culture of cooperation between institutions and citizens, transforming the protection of nature into a shared national priority.

Tourist trails in Albania are increasingly emerging as major destinations for both domestic and international visitors, owing to their natural beauty and the opportunities they provide for hiking, adventure, and exploration. The rising interest in mountain tourism and outdoor activities has simultaneously underscored the need for enhanced care and systematic maintenance of these areas.
